Don’t Be Afraid, Come Step Into 2010.

by meg on January 4, 2010

Oh Calvin, if only I had your spunk and attitude!

But, as I have read this past weekend, the blogger community is taking time to reflect on 2009 and make resolutions for 2010.

And so, I decided take up the resolution gauntlet in a burst of creative and passionate angst energy, and make a few lists of my own.  A word of warning though, do not go to Dooce and read her accomplishments if you are feeling a little punky or down. It will just make you feel like a total punk instead.

Good Things 2009

  • Started a blog that has a little band of faithful followers!
  • Pulled my house together after a major renovation project. Whew.
  • Helped raise $27,000 for a local charity.
  • Helped a grassroots community group start a website.
  • Checked the Grand Canyon off of my “things to do” list.
  • Joined a book club with cool people! (Thanks Anne!)

Good Things 2010

  • Continue to write and improve my blog. Discover new bloggers.
  • Attend BlogHer 2010. Yes, I registered!
  • I need to paint more. It’s my neglected hobby.
  • Network more. I should get a real job. I guess.
  • Use my new firepit for good, not for evil, i.e., don’t eat my weight in S’mores.
  • Improve my Wii Fitness age to my real age.
  • Eat more fish.

Hmm, I guess that wasn’t too painful! And I think my list is eminently achievable.

And as I reflect, it’s true we all can’t be a Dooce. It’s simply unrealistic, and we all know stars align just right at the perfect time for some, and that is a wonderful thing.

But we can have a BOSSY, that visits us every once in awhile, and leaves a message in our mailbox on the morning we seemed to need it the most. And what a great way to start the first Monday of the year.

Welcome to 2010 blogger friends!

My New Years resolution is to attend Blogher with you! I’ve even started my own blog but need help!

Hey! I’m a faithful follower! You crack me up!

I made a Mii but haven’t visited myself since Christmas Day!

I wanna go to BlogHer. I might need to divert funds from our “Go on a Caribbean Blues Cruise in 2012″ piggy bank.

I’m going to visit Bridget’s new blog.

Sister Mercy, LMSS you should so divert those funds and join us!
